Whats the difference between a  ring-tone and a full track?
There is actually no technical difference between a ring tone and a full track, apart from the fact that a ring tone is an edited and shorter version of that track. Usually around thirty seconds will be fine.  The format and the upload method is similar, publishing rights apply if you have a registered track, and the music is delivered both to your customers mobile phone and his/her PC in exactly the same way as the full track.so the only actual difference is the length and price.

Editing a ring-tone from a song.
Think about it as what it will be used for. Imagine this piece of audio going off in a room out of its original context. That’s the mindset you need to be in when you edit a ring-tone. Choose a line of lyrics or musical passage that makes sense as a standalone piece.

Pricing
Ringtones are strangely enough perceived to be more valuable than full tracks. This is not completely impossible to understand, but it is also slightly offensive to the guys and gals who write and record. However, this means that your ringtones can be priced according to whatever market you are in. In the UK ringtones are quite often three pounds a pop. in the US prices vary, but you should stay in the upper levelm because cheap equates to “no value” in the minds of the modern consumer. In other words if your products are cheap they are also substandard. Who wants that as a brand assosiation?
