The amount you earn from each sale depends mainly on three factors:
- The price you set: You decide the retail price from the above price brackets; your profit is generally a percentage of that price.
- The type of product you sell: External costs vary between products, e.g. shipping for T-Shirts
- The currency the product is sold in. thebizmo operates with several currencies and the bank exchange rates vary beyond our control.
Whichever way the details work out, you will get the vast majority of the available profit. The details for the product categories are as follows:
When bought with a CREDIT CARD or Paypal
Music Downloads (Singles, Albums, Ring Tones):
- You get up to 70% of the net retail price straight away.
- The remaining monies cover fees for Sales tax (may or may not apply depending on the country of sale), Payment fees (Paypal and or CC company charges) and our commission of 15%
Videos, E-books etc.
- You get stunning 70% of the net retail price straight away
- The remaining part covers sales tax (may or may not apply depending on the country of sale), Payment fees (Paypal and or CC company charges) and our commission of 15%
Tickets:
- The ticket will be sold for its face value +15% ticketing fee
- You get the full face value of the ticket
- Our 15% ticketing fee covers the costs of providing the service and earns us a modest commission.
T-Shirts etc.:
- There are three elements to the retail price for a T-Shirt:
- Base price: This covers the cost of the customised production of the T-Shirt.
- Shipping: The amount depends on geography and order size and covers (…what a surprise…) the shipping of the physical goods.
- Your desired profit: You choose an amount between 0 and 4 USD that you want to earn per T-Shirt
- The amount of sales tax that we need to deduct
- The customer sees and pays the retail price
Your share when customers pay by mobile phone:
Mobile billing is only available in selected geographies (currently France only) and for small ticket items (price points are €2 and €3) such as singles and ring tones. The mobile network operators charge almost 40% (slight variations by country and operator) as payment cost to handle the process. Given that other costs such as Publishing and sales tax still apply, you will receive a reduced amount of 25% of the retail price (30% for Videos).
In order to ensure that you still receive an appropriate total profit, mobile payment prices are set higher than those credit card prices (e.g. a Single for €0.99 will be sold for €2.00 when customers use mobile payment).
Reseller activities
If a fan of yours acts as reseller and sells your products, he or she will obtain a percentage of your profit (generally 10%).
How do you actually get your money?
It is quick and easy for you to get your money:
- The money is put into your Paypal account (so you need a Paypal account).
- For most products this is done immediately after the purchase, for tickets once the concert has taken place.
- You decide when you want to withdraw the money from your account.
- We do not take any commission for the money transfer; although Paypal will take a small transaction fee.
